Food stamps for the have-nots; food checks for the have's. Have's usually complain about increased tax dollars going to food stamps. They argue food stamps prevent recipients from learning how to care of themselves. However, some of the have's handicap their own offspring. It is what I call the 'food check.' "I will send a check so you can buy some groceries." How is it that an over-the-age-of-18 citizen gets college paid for by parents, plus living expenses taken care of?
