If we stopped a minute to think, we probably can all remember a time when things got ugly. One ugly time for me was getting mugged at gun point. This is a situation I wish on no one. In the moment I remained calm, but on the inside I was scared beyond words.
It is in these ugly moments when we have a choice. Choose God or choose our own self-reliance. We can pray, "God, please help," or we can think, "How do I get myself out of this mess?"
What is our go-to response? God's help or self-reliance?
Prayer: Dear Lord, please keep me and my family safe. When we do find ourselves in an ugly situation, please remind us to turn to you.
