Matthew 3:13

"Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John." - Matthew 3:13

Jesus grew up in Galilee and around age 30 took a trip to the Jordan River, officially beginning his public service and ministry. He could have travelled to the glitz and clamor of the big city (Jerusalem), but instead chose a humbler location: the banks of the Jordan River. He could have asked to see Herod to announce his God-given life mission, but instead he tracked down a man wearing wild-looking clothing made of camel's hair: John the Baptist.

Lessons learned from what Jesus did, said, and thought:

  • Jesus travelled. He didn't wait for the world to come to him, he travelled to it.
  • Jesus acted humbly. The location and person he visited were not necessarily places and people of power.

Make it a great day or not, the choice is yours.
